The “2011 Guinness Oysterfest” kicks off this evening at 6:00 p.m. at Roscoe and Damen Avenues. Hosted by the Roscoe Village Chamber of Commerce and operated by Chicago Special Events Management, the festival manages to avoid much much of the cookie cutter-ness of many other street festivals with its unusual food offerings.
The festival runs from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. tonight and from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Saturday. There’s a $7 suggested entry charge.
Last year’s festival contented with spotty rain and the Wrigley craziness of the Dave Matthew’s Band concert. Remember that?
