Lost German Chicago Exhibit Saturday

By Samantha Abernethy | Friday, March 11, 2011

Lincoln Square is known for its charming German character and rowdy brauhauses, but there are many parts of the community’s German heritage that have been lost to the ages.

DANK Haus hosts the Lost German Chicago exhibit Saturday with lost art, artifacts and memorabilia.

Highlights include relics from the Deutsches Haus at the Columbian Exposition and items from former local landmarks Deli Meyer, Schoenhofen Brewery and memories of St. Boniface Church.

The exhibit is open Saturday, March 12, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the DANK Haus, 4740 N. Western Ave. For more information, visit their website.
